Pathways shape how your landscape feels
A well-designed pathways does more than connect points A and B. It guides the eye, sets a pace, frames views, and gives your landscape a sense of intention. The difference between a thoughtful path and an afterthought is dramatic one invites you to slow down and explore, the other just gets you from the driveway to the front door.
We build pathways in every style, from formal symmetric walkways with crisp paver borders to casual stepping-stone paths through native plantings. The right choice depends on your home, your landscape, and how the pathway will actually be used day to day.
Construction matters as much as design
A beautiful Pathways that shifts, settles, or floods after a hard winter isn't beautiful for long. We build pathways with the same attention to base prep and drainage as our patios — proper excavation depth, geotextile fabric, compacted base aggregate, edge restraint, and well-graded surface to shed water. For stepping stones, we set each stone on a compacted base individually so they don't tip or sink over time.
Lighting and integration
Pathways become twice as functional and three times as beautiful with low-voltage path lighting. We design lighting alongside the pathway itself, running wiring before stones go down so you don't see boxes or junction points later. The result is a path that's safe and inviting after dark important for guests, deliveries, and anyone navigating uneven ground in low light.
Materials for Central Oregon paths
Local basalt and granite stepping stones look beautiful in our high desert landscape and weather to a perfect patina over time. For continuous walkways, paver products give you sharp lines and a wide color palette. Flagstone offers a softer, more organic look. We'll help you choose materials that fit the architectural style of your home and the planting palette around the path.
Pathways FAQs
Concrete pavers and natural flagstone both perform well. Pavers offer crisp lines and easy repair; flagstone gives a more organic look. Both handle our climate with proper base prep.
